QNAP server, MacOS client, both fully up to date. No mods, no plugins, no customization, no themes, etc. Just added my libraries and got metadata scraped.
I get the blue spinning icon (as I call it "blue wheel of death") REALLY frequently in JF. When staring the client, when switching from browsing Shows to Movies or other Library switching, when going home via home icon, and from many other UI operations as well. These can range from seconds to often 10-30+ seconds. The UI is frozen during this. First World Problems, right null. It seems that caching or something the software is doing can fix or greatly improve the issue during a session. If I leave JF running (server & client) and just sleep my Mac (normal process), the occurrence comes back with a vengeance. Sometimes, stopping and restarting JF on my server also helps.
Long story short, this seem quite extreme in frequency and duration and really interferes with any sort of natural flow and enjoyment in the App. I strongly suspect it is not normal.
My Movie Library is large, not huge, about 1600; Music is about 1400 artists and 11k songs; Shows only about 100. Obviously some artists have many albums and some Shows maybe up to roughly 10 seasons and 100 episodes total. Nothing extreme IMHO.
This got so bad prior, maybe 6 months or so ago, I stopped using JF entirely. Now, very much wanting to get back to using and enjoying it, a week or so ago I thoroughly and completely removed both my client and server installs and started with updated and fresh installs. This didn't help or helped very marginally.
