Wow amazing, I was looking so hard for a Jellyfin dedicated music player, and saw your post! Weird this isn’t talked about much!

If you aren't using the Finamp beta, consider doing so.  It is at a point where it is stable and pretty much feature complete.

It lists all the settings that you may need to double check in Android to allow for unrestricted battery and data usage in the background.
