I also got the Plex pass lifetime back in the old days, but didnt like how it worked and found Jellyfin :-)
Yes Jellyfin is free, but do remember to donate, spread the word, report bugs etc. - the devs are working hard and im running 10.11 preview and can tell you, that they so far, has done a amazing work!
