Update: I dug more and confirmed Jellyfin has two distinct artist IDs for “The Beatles”:
id=cc375f5e9bad1b623a6275a559cf68d2 (path /media/music/The Beatles) and
id=de6d0124ad16d59a94cd7beb9df44d55 (path /config/metadata/artists/The Beatles).
I’ve tried:
– Moving the Beatles folder out of the library, scanning,
– Deleting the metadata/artists/The Beatles folder,
– Moving the folder back and rescanning,
– Cleaning up ARTIST / ALBUMARTIST / sort tags.
Still seeing duplicate artist entities with different IDs and paths. This looks very similar to GitHub issues #8373 and #14666 about duplicate artists and metadata-only artist entries.
