How to clean up the metadata of removed files ?

Sorry to revive this but we have 10.11 now and unless I am missing something it is still not cleaning up metadata. I recently bulk moved some files around to reorganize a bit and was hoping between the library scans and running the various tasks available it would clean up the metadata but it doesn't seem to have done so - any updates on this?
