Android TV browse subtitles

Jellyfin does not currently allow you to manually browse and load external subtitle files the way Kodi does.
It can only read subtitle files that are:

• Stored in the same folder as the video, and
  
• Have the exact same filename (e.g., MovieName.mkv + MovieName.srt)
  

So if you're using Jellyfin:

1. Put the .srt file in the same directory as the video on your server.
   
2. Refresh the library.
   
3. Jellyfin should detect it automatically.
   

If you must browse manually, use a player that supports external subtitle browsing, such as:

• VLC for Android TV → Subtitles → Browse
  
• Kodi → has full subtitle browsing support
  
• Nova Video Player → can load external subs locally
  

You can set Jellyfin to use an external player: Jellyfin → Settings → Playback → External Player
