I'll start off by saying I'm new to jellyfin and thus might simply be missing something obvious.
My setup is hosted on a personal windows 11 PC via the Windows installer for jellyfin. Versions should be whatever was latest as of June 26th 2023 (10.8.10 for server and 2.5.2 for clients). I have clients installed on two android phones.
I can view movies and do everything normally on each phone and the webclient on my PC just fine as long as I use the same device to choose the movie and view it.
I can't seem to manage to cast -to- a device, however.
I.e. I can't choose the movie via the PC, but have it show up on my phone (the app is already open on my phone). I see the Cast icon on the top right, and I can choose from my list of devices.
When I try, however, I only get the main image of the movie on the device I'm trying to cast to and nothing else. The image stays there and I can't jump forward or press play or anything. I have tried leaving it alone, to see if it was just taking long to load or send data, but after 20 minutes it is still the same. The app doesn't crash, since I can go back into the menu on the offending device and browse and start a movie just fine.
The plan is I'd have one (older) phone plugged into my tv via HDMI at all times and be able to use my everyday phone as a remote/menu of sorts for movie watching.
How would I go about troubleshooting this?
