I have been stuck to using 1.9.1 Jellyfin for a while now and finally, it stopped working on my laptop. When I try to install Jellyfin 1.10 or 1.10.1 nothing happens. Like when I click on the installer, it loads for a bit, and stops. There's no message displayed, just nothing, I've checked the task manager and there's no mention of it either. I've ensured everything is removed by uninstalling via Revo uninstaller, made sure no files are left with Everything search. Speaking of, running the installer also doesn't generate any folder according to Everything search.

if this can be of any clue, running the program opens an invisible window dialog that closes itself within 2 seconds

Do you have any anti-virus software running other than Windows Defender? The Jellyfin Media Player installer isn't signed and on my system prompts with a warning it isn't signed. But allows me to proceed. If you have any other anti-malware software running it may just be killing it automatically.

Hi, thanks for responding. Based on your suggestion I have tried disabling Window Defender and run Jellyfin, including the latest 1.11.1. Yet the same thing still occurs, it loads a bit, and nothing.

Edit:: I might add also that I have no anti-virus installed on my laptop. My laptop is a Legion 5 15ACH6 using Legion Toolkit instead of Vantage and using Windows 11. The installation of 1.9.1 pops out the jellyfin installation windows while 1.10, 1.10.1, 1.11, 1.11.1 does nothing other than circling for a few seconds.

Right click and run the installer as admin?

It happened to me also, had to delete the jellyfin folder under program. Note: You will lose everything, set up and all.

so reinstalling the media player solves it? I had done that many times, even deleting every folder associated to it.
