Kodi - Can read Jellyfin Server with the Kodi-Jellyfin plug-in and use Jellyfins metadata.

Jellyfin - does not seem to be able to read Kodi’s Server or use Kodi’s Metadata?

When Kodi stores Metadata with the Media
and Jellyfin stores Metadata with the Media
If you look in your Media folder there is a set of metadata from Kodi, and a set of metadata from Jellyfin.

When I connect my Media and run Kodi I get Kodi Metadata from Several Databases.
When I connect my Media and run Jellyfin I get Jellyfin Metadata from different Databases.

So I have a lot of Metadata in the media Folder.

Why would you have two different things both trying to write metadata for the same media? That's a terrible idea. The most likely result of this is that Kodi finds metadata, writes it, Jellyfin finds metadata, overwrites it, Kodi finds metadata, overwrites it again, repeat until the heat death of the universe. Pick one, don't let both of them write metadata at the same time.

Our docs are pretty clear about the required naming of nfo files to have the data be imported: https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server/metadata/nfo

    I have 3 Desktops, 3 Laptops.

Using 2 Media Centres Kodi & Jellyfin.

All Computers have both Media Centres installed.

Both Media Centres write Metadata to the Computers in the respective Software Folders.

Both Media Centres do not use .nfo files, as this option is not selected on the settings of the Media Centres.

To save each Computer wasting time scraping Metadata, I decided to scrap to the Media Folder.

I looked in Media Folder and have lots of Metadata, poster, cover art, fan art, actor pics and other weird files.

When I play a Movie each Media Centre displays different Photo and Description which is fine.

Not sure if anything is overwritten.

Yes, obviously.  There's only two ways to share metadata between Jellyfin and Kodi:

    * One of them retrieves metadata from providers, writes it to nfo files (and images/subtitles/etc) alongside the media, the other can read it
    * Use one of our Kodi addons (jellyfin-kodi or jellycon) to display Jellyfin contents inside of Kodi.

You're running two completely different systems with completely different metadata storage methods and varying overlap in metadata providers.  Of course they're not going to share and wind up with different data.

Our docs are very clear about what files get imported into Jellyfin and how to name them.  A completely separate metadata directory is very much not supported.  It has to be alongside your media files.
