    Hello all.

I'm new to Jellyfin, coming from Plex. I've been working on getting my film collection recognized and sorted. I've been able to work out most of the issues I've come across, but not these—

Regarding "Primary" images, or movie posters. There seems to be a trend toward something I find very strange: movie posters edited to remove everything except the name of the film. I am a big fan of movie poster design and really find this off-putting. Beautiful posters made very ugly, often. Also, I like to see the names of the stars of the films. I realize that not everyone feels this way, and that there must be some cases where a simplified poster is better, maybe for viewing tiny posters on tiny phone screens, but I wish it wasn't the default. Does anyone also prefer the original artwork, and what do you do about it?

My second question is related. After manually changing a poster, the next time I scan the library, the poster goes back to what it was before I changed it. I see that there's the option "Lock this item to prevent future changes" in "Edit Metadata" and "Metadata Manager," but not in "Edit Images." Is there a way to lock items in bulk? Like, I would change the posters I want different, then lock them all at the same time.

I really hope that's possible. Thanks so much for anything you can add to the discussion.

If, when you scan a library, you don't use "replace all images", the original image or your uploaded image should remain.

    Thanks, bitmap.

Sometimes, it seems, I need to select "Replace existing images." For instance, when the "Primary" image doesn't download during the initial scrape. I have been using the "Search for missing metadata" option for those entries. If I do not select "Replace existing images" then Jellyfish keeps the screengrab, or whatever you call that default image when there's no poster.

It would be extremely handy to be able to "lock" multiple items at once.

Also, about the edited movie posters, it seems that IMDB never uses those. Is there a way to add IMDB to the list of Image fetchers?

    Thanks!
