Item IDs

Hello, I was wondering whether an item's ID can change during "regular" use? The ID I am referring to is the "Id" field returned by the API, and I am specifically wondering about Series and Episodes.

I'd like to store these ID's in a database, but if these ID's are dynamic, or change with some frequency, that obviously will have an impact.

An item id does not change, it's also used to store watch state etc.
