Hi, after many years with my rpi4 docker JF server I´m thinking about upgrading it.
Mainly because even when I have a 10gbps fiber installation my friends abroad complain about them not having smooth playback.
Also to grow my 4K collection with more {topic we don't talk about - TDP} stuff which needs heavy lifting.

For a 24/7 unattended server what would you reccomend?

    is Orange Pi an option?
must I go back to ugly windows?

I´m looking for a modest cost solution and not very energy demanding.

    thanks

What is your budget? If you have a lot of 4K content, and little or no control over the clients, you'd need to ensure you have the capacity to transcode and tone map. An Orange Pi is not going to cut it if you have more than one user.
