Using jellyfin-server 10.8.13 on arch, and the JellyFin android app (2.6.0).

Android Auto works but on the artists A-Z screen, only letters up to B are available. Same for albums.

I found this thread from three years ago explaining that it's a limitation with Android Auto's API that devs are trying to figure out.

Is this still the current state of the app or is there a workaround to load more of the library?

I've been using Symfonium, which works fine, but I'd really rather use a free and open solution if one is available (preferably before my free trial runs out Laughing ).

    Thanks!

IMO, stick with Symfonium for now with Android Auto. My understanding is that Android Auto doesn't have great documentation.

I concur with using Symfonium. It is the best Jellyfin music player and its Android Auto support is second to none.

Thanks for posting this - I have similar issues with Android Auto only showing some artists and some folders that are shown also seem to be empty and missing the songs.

I will give Symfonium a try.

Same issue for me except I get artist up to G. I thought it had to do with my app cache or data but clearing and resetting that didn't help. The Jellyfin app on my phone can access the full library but not on Android Auto. Hard to believe it's an API issue if the library can work with other apps. I also run a Plex server and Plexamp works flawlessly on Android Auto. Since this has been an issue for years, I guess it's not likely to get fixed any time soon unless the devs develop an interest in using it with Android Auto themselves! Oh well... disappointing but it's a free media server so hard to get mad about it!
