I’m running a Jellyfin server (latest 10.10.7 releases) on Windows 11, but can’t get my Android box (one with an RK3588 chipset) to see my server.  I’ve got the 8096 port forwarded to my Windows 11 box (the IP address is hard-coded).  No matter what I do, I can’t get my Android box to see my server.  Can anybody give me any pointers?

Is the Android device on the same network as your Jellyfin server? You shouldn't need port forwarding if they are on the same LAN.

You would need to check if the Windows firewall is configured to allow port 8096 or allow jellyfin.exe in its entirety. You should also check whether your network adapter is set to public or private. Should be private as that is what Jellyfin creates rules for during installation.

I have the Windows Firewall disabled (as it’s garbage).

Where do I check if my network adapter is public or private?  BTW, I’m running that computer over Wifi (as my router is in the middle of my apartment, and can’t move it).

    Read this link.

Also, what IP are you using on the Android box? Your local or public address? And is it on the same network as the server?

It is on the same network as the server.  The server’s IP is 192.168.1.200.  All I know is that it’s there, as I don’t know the IP address.

The IP address of the Android box is on the same network. Due to the setup of my apartment, I cannot move the AP closer to the server or the Android box.

Can ANY other device connect to your server? You only mentioned the one Android box. If no other device can connect, I'm wondering if AP isolation is turned on for your WiFi.

You can also check the firewall status of jellyfin.exe. I know you said that you turned it off, but let's double check.

Click Start > type Resource Monitor > click the Network tab > expand the Listening Ports table.

Find jellyfin.exe on port 8096. What does it say in the Firewall Status column?

Port 8096 TCP has a status of “-“ and the same with 7359 UDP.

Screenshot? It should have something in the firewall status column. Usually something like "Allowed, unrestricted" or "Allowed, restricted".
