    Hello,
When I open Jellyfin Music section thorugh browser or on Android smartphone there are sections Artist, Album, Songs.
But not on AndroidTV, there are only Last added, Last played. There is no possibility to play anything like on the phone where you can go into Albums and choose Play random .

Music support in the Android TV app is almost non-existent. Not recommended.

The 0.16 beta for the Android TV app should have music support. Other than that, I am not aware of a way to play music on your TV besides DLNA.

Are there any updates on this?

I noticed that music seems to be supported after all, however, in my case tracks just won't start playing. No visible progress, no sound either. The track will show as played or partly played on other apps though.

Everything else works as expected and is pretty much in sync with the rest of the eco system, minus design aspects.

It works NOW, over 1 year later. We'd need to see your logs to figure out why. I have no issues listening to music on any of my Android TV devices.

My suspicion has been confirmed. It came to me just now since I’ve never run into any issues in all those years. It’s the audio format that’s causing trouble: AIFF. I just tried to play an MP3 and it’s working fine. The Problem is that, with a few exceptions, all my music is in that format. Is that a known issue?

Right. And why would I do that? Why would I convert terabytes of the best audio format there is out there? It’s superior for many reasons. FLAC requires CPU and isn’t supported by iTunes which I use too. It’s also superior to WAV since it supports tags. It doesn’t even make sense in terms of storage space anymore. There is absolutely no reason to use FLAC. It’s just chic, or modern as you call it. In 2025, FLAC is actually the outdated of the two and has become obsolete in my opinion. AIFF has been and still is the industry’s gold standard.

My question was another though: Is it not supported by the Android TV app or could this be a setting or something else on my end?
