Some 4K HDR movies I have contain both DV 8.1/HDR10 and can switch between the two depending on whether a device is compatible or not; my LG TV can play back DV 8.1 but requires an mp4 container. I really don't feel like remuxing all these files myself, and many of these have non text subtitles anyway and I'd prefer to keep them instead of stripping them.

Seems like the easiest solution is to just let the Jellyfin server remux on the fly to play these. But I was wondering: how taxing actually will it be on my server? I only have around 6 users, and at most I see 2-3 streaming at the same time, so I figure it won't be much of an issue; that said, I still was curious what is an estimated load when performing the task with my hardware (see signature for specs).

Remuxing takes almost no compute. You are limited by the disk read/write. 2-3 simultaneous remuxes on uncompressed HDR files should not be a problem.
