Atv app completely broken for me

I am using a windows 10 machine with dual core cpu.
 I was using 0.16.x version on both my Atv and firetv stick. Everything was working fine except resume play.I was able to watch live tv channels and all the videos works in both exo and libvlc .

After the latest update the option to select video players while playing the video has gone now the resume play is working fine but all the videos only play with external video player and no video is playing with internal player it just shows the black screen and nothing happens. Live tv channels also not working and when selecting external player with live tv it just shows black screen. 
I don't do transcoding and streams everything locally directly as I play 4k stuff and my cpu is not that great. though I do have a gigabit routers on all connections.

For now I have reverted back to 0.16.x version and disabled auto update and everything starts working again except resume play.

I don't know what is happening on the new update. if anyone can help me that would be great as I like having the resume play feature.

You need to enable transcoding if you want the streams to properly work in those cases.
LibVLC was removed due to many unpatched security vulnerabilities.

but I don't want transcoding as my cpu is not powerful enough the 4k video will stutter if I do transcoding. is this the only way? if yes then I have to be on 0.16.x only.

Thanks for making me aware of that problem!

Parts of my family that are using the ATV-App have noticed some movies not working anymore and I really didn't find any problem until I realized that this was removed.
As I am also currently not allowing transcoding due to the server not being powerful enough I will also downgrade to 0.16 the next time I am visiting them.

Playback without transcoding was my main reason for setting them up with clients in the first place. So it's kind of sad to see it gone, I understand the reasoning though.

I appreciate everybody working on this and hope you will find a solution with whatever way you want to go with going forward.
