Jellyfin server is running in Docker on my Ubuntu media server, version 10.9.6
The clients I use run on an nVidia Shield Pro.

I use the official Jellyfin client as well as Kodi 21 Omega with the Jellyfin for Kodi add-on.

My issue is that when playing through Kodi high-bitrate audio tends to repeatedly drop out making it fairly unusable for things like Bluray remuxes.
My latest example is yesterday watching The Mule. Video is 4k DV and audio is DTS-HD MA 5.1

About a minute in the audio cuts out for around 4 seconds and then comes back. This then happened 2-3 more times before I switched to the Jellyfin client which played the whole thing flawlessly.
I have numerous files on which this happens, it's just quite difficult to debug because it's so random whether and when it will happen. It's generally quite solid on files that are lower bitrate.

The only reason I want Kodi to work is that it can shift subtitles and audio while the official client can't, which I sometimes need to do.

I dug into the Kodi and Jellyfin logs and nothing jumped out at me but here's a paste of the relevant section of the Kodi logs. There's nothing at all in the Jellyfin logs about playback as I didn't have debug logging turned on for this run.

It somehow feels like the network speed doesn't keep up but only in Kodi? The shield is hardwired as well as the media server over gigabit so it doesn't make much sense to me.
Is there some different connection method in Kodi vs. Jellyfin client? That's just kind of a wild guess though.

While not an answer to your problem with Kodi, have you tried using MPV Shim?

It's basically the same player as in Jellyfin Media Player, but it allows for a lot of settings to be changed by using the keyboard during video playback. One of those is settings being audio and subtitle shifting.
