    Jellyfin Android app 0.17.6
Jellyfin server 10.9.11 (docker under Ubuntu)

    Hisense Google TV
    Android TV OS version 12
Android TV OS security patch level March 5, 2024
    Kernel version 5.4.265
    Android TV OS build STT2.230310.002

I just finished ripping a CD of a local band. The default in the software was apparently .m4a with ACC codec. It plays fine under Windows 11 Chrome browser Jellyfin web. It plays fine using the Android Jellyfin app on my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. But when I attempt to play the tracks using the Android app on my Hisense Google TV, the tracks appear to play, but there is no sound. The time bar advances, but no sound. If I play other format files, there is sound.

I can re-rip the CD in a different format such as MP3, but just wanted to know if this was a known issue? Or do I have something configured wrong? I'm fairly new to Jellyfin.

This might be a TV/vendor specific issue. Our Android TV app does support AAC in M4A, but we rely on exoplayer built into your TV so if Hisense is using a bugged version or if they've made changes then we have no way of working around that.

I don't see any open, or even closed, tickets regarding this so I'm pretty certain this isn't an issue with the Android TV app, in general.

Re-rip to MP3 or OPUS or FLAC or something.

Yep -- re-ripped to FLAC and it works fine. Might open an issue with Hisense.
