I read that Jellyfin with the top-rated replacement for Plex, so I was really hoping to be able to get around the problem I'm having.

I have Bluetooth earbuds that I use when I'm watching my videos.  The problem I have with Plex is that it doesn't have an option to speed up or slow down the audio.  I've got a slight delay with my earbuds.  Not much, but enough to be noticeable and annoying.  Plex can't deal with it, so I'm using Plex mainly as the keeper of my library.  I'll check to see which episode I need to watch next, then run it on VLC Media Player, which has an easy-to-use tool to fix my lag.

From what I've seen of Jellyfin so far, it seems to be about equal to Plex.  The thing that would keep me using Jellyfin and ditching Plex completely will be if there is a way to fix the lag issue.  Otherwise, I'm back to Plex where things are more familiar.

I've looked throuigh all the menus, but didn't see any option that addressed this.  Did I miss it somewhere?  Is it a "coming soon" update?

    Thanks in advance!

There wouldn't be a server side setting to set an audio delay. And I don't recall there being a setting for that in the Android client, but I've also never looked.

What kind of, I'm assuming, phone are you using? And what kind of earbuds? Most newer phones and earbuds using newer bluetooth protocols that reduce the latency to almost nothing.

Sorry so late to get back to you. I didn't get notification that there was a reply.

I'm not using my phone. I'm connected to the server on my laptop. And I can't say how old the Bluetooth earbuds are. I got them on Amazon a couple of months ago, but there's really no way of telling how technologically old they are, as far as I know.

The reason I use VLC is because I can speed up or retard the audio. Can't see that that would be a problem to do in Jellyfin's player, too.

I'd really like to be able to use the built-in player of Jellyfin instead of VLC, since Plex's player doesn't allow for adjusting the audio and the developers don't seem to want to listen to what the actual users need.

I'm more than happy to pay a one-time license fee if that was ever required (or donate), providing this option was part of the package.

Jellyfin is free, both as in beer and as in speech. None of the official clients nor the server have any feature paywalls. Its just a matter of not currently having that feature, AFAIK, in any of our clients.

This is a long standing feature request.

But, as with any FOSS project, there has to be an overlap of a developer with the knowledge to implement this feature, the time to do it, and there not being more pressing bugs/features to work on.

Still wouldn't mind donating to the project if that was possible, but only if this is implemented.

I did a search in the Requests site yesterday, but didn't phrase it right. Didn't see that topic.

    Thanks.
