audiobooks not saving progress

Currently adding audiobooks under a book library and they work great but they aren't saving the progress of where I left off in the  books.  Is there any way to fix this?  I cant find any modern threads

Can you please provide your Jellyfin log? If you haven't listened recently, please recreate the issue and provide that log.

On the Android mobile app I know I've had issue with logouts/server disconnect after stopping playback regardless of the player I use, but that may be my issue rather than something widespread.

What library type are the audio books in? Are they in a music library or books library? If they are in a books library progress will not be saved. But they would be saved in a books library.
