When you watch SD live TV from Freeview in the UK via a HDHomeRun (which requires transcoding), the auto quality destroys the image quality (see below image).
If you manually adjust the quality the issue is resolved, but this is a frustrating fix and isn't available on the FireStick app.
I've noticed this issue on all players on all of my devices (FireStick app, Desktop app, and Web).
I have tried to fix this by adjusting the server transcoding settings extensively and nothing has made any difference.
Additionally I've noticed that HD live TV stutters too, rendering all Live TV playback pretty much unsuable.
Transcoding a 100GB 4K file to 1080p works flawlessly.
I have Jellyfin running in a docker under UNRAID, I can't fault the setup as everything but Live TV is working fine.
I would also like to add that I run a plex server exactly the same way and the Live TV works flawlessly.
They don't share resources, I've fired them up separately to rule out any potential overlap issues and it made no difference to the issue.
