    hi guys,
just seeking your expertise on how to fix one movie that is not playing anymore on Jellyfin and it is stuck to a scene with a spinning progress circle.

I downloaded a srt file which was for a dvd version to the avi file (silly me of course) and it started spinning for a while and that's when I thought it was not right so I hit refresh which cancelled it. I've deleted the srt file since then, even deleted the movie and added it again, changed its location name slightly, refreshed all meta data, even restarted the service for Jellyfin. Everytime I try to play, it is still at the same stage and spinning.

My Jellyfin is v10.10.7 and hosted inside a container project on Synology NAS. I'm logged in as root when doing the operations. I have no changed any encoding settings. All other movies play fine that are similar (i have not added any subtitle srt file for them)

XXXXXXXX = my server name as below

The url that it shows when i click play is: http://XXXXXXXX:8096/web/?/movies.html?topParentId=f137a2dd21bbc1b99aa5c0f6bf02a805&collectionType=movies#/movies.html?topParentId=f137a2dd21bbc1b99aa5c0f6bf02a805&collectionType=movies

and it stays on that url without changing; other movies redirect to another shorter url.

I have inspected the logs which shows FFmpeg.Transcode error as in the attachment. I can't really make heads or tails of it to fix the issue. Can you assist me please?

    thank you in advance.

    Kayla

    hi guys,

chill out, I managed to fix it after going around the configuration sections inspecting a lot of options, puttying in and navigating to find those ids related to the logs.

In the end it was a simpler fix, clicking on the movie to play and the progress circle kept spinning, I right clicked on the movie screen, it gave me a menu, I selected show all controls, the movie bar on the bottom then showed. I dragged the play section to forward and pressed the play button triangle a few times to the start and the the middle section. Et voila! It started playing as normal from the Jellyfin console.

Thanks all for looking into it, much appreciated.

Jellyfin is awesome btw, and so are all the developers working on it... huge respect xxx

    regards,
    Kayla
