    Hello,

I am trying to troubleshoot an issue I face when trying to connect to my JF server through the official JF app (tested via Iphone, android TV, and xbox app). all apps and my server are updated.

My set up is JF server running on a docker container alongside Nginix Proxy Manager. My media is on a separate NAS.

I have a cloudlfare domain that connects to my public IP address. the domain is added on NPM as a Proxy Host (see attachment for setup).

    What works:
Locally, i can connect to my server using local IP address. this works on all clients and apps.
Locally, I can connect to my domain in my browser (Firefox/chrome pc, safari on iphone).
Remote, I can connect to my domain in my browser.
Remote, I can connect to my domain via Iphone App.**
Remote, device connected previously, have no trouble connecting.

    What doesn't work:
Locally, I cannot connect using Iphone App or Android TV App via DOMAIN.
Remote, I cannot connect using XBOX App via DOMAIN.

**Iphone App, when entering server address remotely, if i just put the DOMAIN (no http:// or https://), I connect and in settings the server says Http://domain. When i delete this and enter https://domain, the setting has it as HTTPS. Either way, when i go back to local, it does not work.

Some other observations are that I do not notice any traffic on my firewall leaving my device when i am local, and trying to reach my domain via the app. My firewall is OPNsense.

    Thank you in advance

That's because the DNS entry for your doman has a TTL, hence your device does not need to do a DNS lookup every time you connect to it, and because your router is smart enough to figure that the A or AAAA entries for your domain point to its very own public IP address(es).
