i was told the dimensions Jellyfin uses for images are

    vertical posters: 435x640
    horizontal 435x245

i know that to keep the image for a library from changing you name the image poster then the picture file extension and put it in that library's folder. i tried resizing in gimp but it still didnt stop it from cropping. im attaching some images that are coming out cropped for me. hope to learn a solution from you guys. this has been driving me crazy lol

thank you bitmap for taking the time to provide this info. this should be handy. speaking of kodi do you have a recommended video or guide for newbs at KODI? ii downloaded it on my android shield. it looks intimidating but im willing to learn. i think i heard something that youtube was or is against videos teaching how to use it? something like that was said in a video i saw. anyway thank you and if you can help with my kodi inquiry id appreciate it cause i bring it up cause from that link it looks like KODI is easier to use for using artwork for one's media on jellyfin.

It has been probably a decade or more since I used Kodi (XBMC, maybe even a different iteration at the time) so I'm not sure I can be much help there. I know there are several folks who use the plugins here in the forum though. You might make a different topic if you have Jellyfin-centered questions. For general knowledge-building however, I'd have to point you towards their quick start guide: https://kodi.wiki/view/Quick_start_guide.
