Can I disable PGS subs or force SRT subs?

PGS subs are bad. SRT subs are good. Force?

I don't like using PGS style subtitles because I find the way they pause the media, show a background image, and then restart to be very disruptive. I prefer using regular SRT subtitles since they can be enabled instantly. Is there a way to switch to, or force SRT subtitles on all media?

    Thanks!

Do your files have SRT subs? PGS is a format, not a style. Your media either has SRT or doesn't.

You'd have to use something like OpenSubtitles, which we have a plugin for, to get SRT subtitles.

    Thank you for your response.

Yes, I have the OpenSubtitles plugin, which works fine. My issue is that any media with existing PGS subtitles defaults to using those PGS subtitles, which I don't want. I'd prefer to use SRT for everything if that's possible?

If you already have SRT subs, you can just disable image based subs in the library settings.  Change "Disable different types of embedded subtitles" to "Allow text". Or even "Allow none" since your subtitles from OpenSubtitles are not embedded.
