Hello. can someone please confirm if AC3-EX works for them? Jellyfin refuses to play any media with such audio and, annoyingly, doesn't tell me anything to that effect. It simply spins a progress wheel for eternity.

The logs simply say the HTTP request is taking too long but the exact same media is fine if remuxed into any other audio so I'm sure it's the AC3-EX that's the problem. Doesn't matter if I use MKV or MP4 container.

Obviously if I file an issue on GitHub I'll provide a lot more info, but at this point I just want to know if AC3-EX works for anyone else? Then I can at least eliminate an app-wide refusal to play it.

The compatibility page lists AC3 as compatible and anything that can't decode EX should just fallback to standard AC3 but that's definitely not happening here.

    Thanks

Oooh. Finally get to test an obscure-ish piece of media.

    Mediainfo says this contains EX:
    Code:
    ID                                      : 189 (0xBD)-128 (0x80)
    Format                                  : AC-3
    Format/Info                              : Audio Coding 3
    Commercial name                          : Dolby Digital
Format settings                          : Dolby Surround EX
    Muxing mode                              : DVD-Video
    Channel(s)                              : 6 channels
    Channel layout                          : L R C LFE Ls Rs

Granted it's in the original VOB container right off a DVD. Tested in Firefox, gets identified as AC3 transcoded to AAC without a hitch. Tried in Jellyfin Media Player, and it's direct playing it as AC3 using MPV. I don't have the equipment to test if I'm actually getting the EX channels out of it or if it's just playing the core AC3 stream, but it's still playing.
