    Hi There
I'm sure this has been answered somewhere else, but I just cannot find it.
I have Jellyfin 10.8.11 installed (upgraded) and after the upgrade none of my media would play.
I get a message "This client isn't compatible with the media and the server isn't sending a compatible media format."
This was not an issue before the update.
I then tried to add new media to the share and its not visible in the Library
so I run a scan and still no media, so I try to browse to the mapped drive.. this is where I get the error:
"The path could not be found. Please ensure the path is valid and try again."
i'm running as a service using local system, since the network service stopped shortly after starting.
the mapped drive is visible when i see it in Windows and the contents are read/writable
but when I try to add as a Z: drive to a Library it cannot see it.
I have reinstalled and I still cannot access my mapped drive and I suspect this is why my other media are not playing too
    please help! many thanks
    A

Double check your permissions. Re-installing may have reset permissions.

Is there a reason you chose a service install over a basic install? Do you need it to run without having to log in?

Yeah, ideally i'd like to run it whilst not logged in, but it was doing the same as a service and not as a service.
the permissions on the mapped drive have not changed and there is nowhere in jellyfin to define permissions for any device.
so where would I check for permissions?
even removing as a service and adding a new server does not allow me to add from my media library; I get the same error
    cheers

Honestly, I've only ever accessed a network share with a logged in user. I'm not even sure where to begin with a service install.

If you did a basic install the user you log in as is the user that jellyfin is running as. And that user would need access to the network share. And that's about it.

On the server hosting the network share, just make sure your user can access that share. That should be the only thing you need to do.
