Hello, and thank you in advance for any help provided.
I setup Jellyfin on Windows Server (2019) yesterday. It was currently used as a Plex server but I'm sure you're all aware of those goings-on.
After completing the set up last night, and not being able to get any device to connect due to what I thought was tiredness, I went to bed.
I awoke this morning to find I could connect from iPhone (WiFi and 5G), my Firestick, and an Android tablet. I'm still unsure why it just suddenly worked.
Eagerly I installed Jellyfin Media Player (latest) on my Windows 11 desktop but that cannot connect to the server. I tried via browser, cannot connect to the server. The same applies to my Windows 10 laptop.
I have spent most of the day trying to get this figured out to no avail. Checked firewall settings, disabled firewall settings, Port Forwarding is all set up and working absolutely fine for everything except Windows/JMP. I installed a different desktop client, Blink, which made no difference (not that I thought it would).
My setup hasn't really changed from Plex other than using the default Jellyfin ports instead of the Plex ones. FQDN forwarded via my router (static IP), to the Windows Server (HTTP:8096, HTTPS:8920).
Like I say, everything else works both on the local network, and external networks, fine. I'm not new to this, I've worked in the IT/networking sector since the '90s and I've tried everything I can think of. Maybe I'm overthinking it? I'm absolutely exhausted and need some shut-eye now but any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
