OK...I've been trying to get Jellyfin working for four days now...about to give up...last try now. I started from clean install ubuntu 24 LTS desktop. Then updates, then docker, then jellyfin via docker compose (BTW the instructions are missing "sudo..."). Then normal setup for movies on external drive. That all goes smoothly. Then I can play the files via VLC but no via jellyfin...web or player. I get "Playback Error: Playback failed due to a fatal player error." I tried transcoding...hardware acceleration AMD (I'm on an AMD asus). I don't even wanna stream the files (the server works) just try to play them locally through Jellyfin...

update: found the mounting was not staying the same name (media, media1, media2...) so used fstab to mount properly every boot.

    now this error...

    here the last log:

    Whoops. Missed this post.

Can you share your docker compose? And what are the permissions on the file and folders?

    Code:
    ls -ld /media /media/Movies /media/Movies/"12.Angry.Men.1957.1080p.BluRay.x264-CiNEFiLE [PublicHD.ORG]"
    ls -l "/media/Movies/12.Angry.Men.1957.1080p.BluRay.x264-CiNEFiLE [PublicHD.ORG]/12 Angry Men (1957).mkv"
