Hi, I am having trouble streaming some media. Seems to be affecting only some titles. I don't know how to read the logs. I will attach logs from a file that works, and one that doesn't. Hopefully that'll be enough info to help.

There is no error on the tv, but something flashes extremely quick, only word I can read in time is "playback." It loads for a moment, sometimes shows a percent loaded, then quits immediately.

Running version 10.10.3 on windows, trying to stream to a roku tv. Works when streaming to PC.

    Working: https://pastebin.com/K1qQysqS

    Thank you for your help

In terms of codec, they are not appreciably different. Both of the resulting transcodes are outputting H264 video (unmodified) and converting the audio to stereo AAC.

What is different is that the log that you labeled as "not working" is outputting the transcode into a MP4 container. The one you labeled as working is outputting into a TS container.

Which makes me question whether both of these logs are from the Roku or if one is from playing a video on your PC.

They were both from playing on the roku. I had someone play both titles after one another specifically to generate fresh log files. While trying to troubleshoot this, I ran into another movie with the same issue. I'll paste the log file. This time it throws an error on the TV. "Error during playback: there was an error retrieving the data for this item from the server." https://pastebin.com/wv29vBV6

In the meantime, I swapped the not working title with another file, and that one is now working. Makes me think its something with the file itself? I have to assume jellyfin isn't the culprit.

Thank you again for the help

This one is in a TS container, also H264 video, but 5.1 AAC instead of stereo. So the container isn't the problem since the one that worked in your last post was transcoded to a TS container.

In the ROKU's settings. How do you have the audio settings configured?

There aren't too many settings in roku for audio. Output and preferred audio are set to auto. I changed one setting to prefer dolby on the tv settings itself, but that didn't change anything. I did change the output to dolby in jellyfin and the title played correctly. I'll paste logs.

Audio options in jellyfin are: not working - trueHD - 5.1
    Working: AC3 embedded - dolby digital - 5.1

Go ahead and submit a bug report.

    https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-roku/issues

I don't see any reason why one works and the other doesn't. Both are pretty much identical after they are transcoded.
