Just to give some context, jellyfin on my RPi has worked perfectly for over a year, including searching, without any issues. Now, after the upgrade, I’m certain that searching triggers a hang every time.
I’m considering doing a complete fresh reinstall of 10.8.x later this week to see if that resolves the problem.
The problem is that in 10.9 tags were added to search. In 10.8 only titles and people, etc., were searched. So searching is much more resource intensive in 10.9.
Jellyfin 10.10.0 (Docker)
Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
Intel i3 12100
Intel Arc A380
OS drive - SK Hynix P41 1TB
Storage
3x WD Red Pro 6TB CMR in RAIDZ1 (JF Library)
Thanks for the explanation. I'm certain that my library doesn't contain any tags. My library.db is stored on an SSD, and I’ve run SQLite queries on it, which are pretty fast.
I've also written some scripts that perform searches through the web API, and they seem to work without any problems after the upgrade. The issue seems to be specifically with searching through the web interface.
I can confirm I am having the same issue with 10.9.10 (clean install) via webui on a QNAP (TS-853 Pro) install (qpkg). Search is slow but when add to playlist is selected it takes my setup 9 min to return the list which in my case is one. The NAS processor is at 60% for the duration with no spikes, memory usage is 4 out of 8 GB and lan traffic is low. The log only contains ForceKeepAlive whioch I assume is a symptom more than a cause.
The only activity on the JF server is this activity and the server is used only for audio (MP3).
