Domain access

Hello, so I have managed to setup my jellyfin remote connection through a reverse proxy using couldflare and a domain I own.
When I enter the domain globally (outside my network) it works normally.
but when I try using the domain on my local network it does not work.
Obviously I can still access my jellyfin locally by just using the ipv4, but I would like for my family to also be able to use the domain to access the jellyfin and not just my friends.
also using a vpn fixes this, but obviously i don't want to use vpn just to have access to the domain on the local network.
I am pretty new to this so if anyone has how to fix it it would help.

A couple of questions, are you using Cloudflare proxing for your setup? If so, I'd recommend disabling that since it is against CF's TOS to serve video through their free tier proxy service. But that can also be problematic for using your domain on, for example, mobile devices, that leave your LAN. Switch Cloudflare to DNS only.

Once you do that, do you know if your router supports "NAT loopback"? "NAT hairpin" is another name for it. When this is enabled your router will keep traffic local when you access your domain from the same LAN as the server.

as for cloudlfare, its on DNS only.
as for the "NAT loopback/hairpin", I have looked all around the router settings for something similar and only came across "NAT" and "NAT PMP" which I believe are not what I am looking for, so my router probably doesnt support nat hairpin.

If you don't have NAT loopback/hairpin, most routers SHOULD allow you to create custom DNS entries. You should create an entry for your domain that resolves to your LAN IP for your server.

weirdest thing happened, I was busy so I didnt have time to fix this yet, but all of a sudden my domains stopped working so I tried to rewrite the dns stuff, it fixed the domains but also somehow gave me the ability to use the domain on the home network. kind of weird because I did not change anything only rewrote the same things.
Anyways, thanks for the help, I am supposed to get a new router soon so I hope it wont break much.
