Hey, folks! I'm moving away from Kodi and have a library that is fully custom. I've gone through every NFO file and curated the info inside of it. I have also added <lockdata>true</lockdata> in each file. Inside Jellyfin, I've checked the box for "Lock this item to prevent future changes", and unchecked each box underneath it to keep those sections from being changed.

However, Jellyfin keeps making changed to the files. How do I prevent that? Thanks!

You would need to do two things. Uncheck EVERY metadata provider in your library settings and UNcheck NFO saver. With that unchecked Jellyfin will still read NFOs, but will not modify them.

Gotha. I was trying to use the download missing artwork feature without screwing with anything else.

Now I just need to learn how to remove individual Cast/Crew members.

Just to point out, the lock metadata option only works on items that are already filled out.

If you were to ever enable metadata providers again, Jellyfin would still fill in empty metadata parts if they are available from the metadata source.

You can only lock already-filled in metadata.
And it's not possible to lock image metadata such as coverart.

Interesting, thanks. I backed up the images I've chosen to their own directory. Thanks!
