I have a sony andriod tv with a sony 7.1 surround sound system connected through eARC, however there are a few issues, the default player (Exoplayer) plays the sound but it comes through distorted and choppy and if I switch to libVLC the sound works fine but I can't get it to sync at all, I've tried dialing in a delay but it doesn't seem to be consistent. The admin panel says that the TV doesn't support DTS streams though I'm not sure if that actually matters? Since libVLC seems to be able to handle that audio stream fine aside from the sync issue. I can just set the downmix to stereo however I don't want to have to keep toggling that on and off and would like to actually use the surround system if possible.

Does anyone have a solution to this? Thanks

If your TV is acting as the client, it defines what it can handle. It's telling Jellyfin it can't handle DTS and maybe that's true. Maybe it can't handle DTS pass-thru (or vice-versa). You might check your TV settings for how it's handling audio (whether it's pass-thru or if it's processing).

Share your logs via pastebin and any ffmpeg logs if you're getting a transcode from either player option. That would be a good start.

Thanks for the response, I did check my TVs settings and there was one to pass audio, once enabled seems to have fixed it for the most part!
