    Hi all,
I have just build home server with truenas scale and jellyfin server.
I use official jellyfin client on Nvidia shield with demon avr 3700h

I have Atmos working but cannot get DTS hd / drs X, my receiver just shows dts

Any post I have found on subject are old when it believe it was possible.

Can anytime confirm is it possible and what do I need to do. I'm trying to move away from Kodi which still works perfectly.

    Thanks
    Ciaran

Did you enable bitstream passthrough for both Dolby and DTS in the Jellyfin app?

Settings > Playback > Advanced playback preferences > Bitstream DTS

And make sure that Audio output under "Playback" is set to "direct". It probably already is if Dolby is working correctly.

I have been made aware that this setting (bitstream DTS) is no longer present. I had assumed that my device doesn't show it since it doesn't support DTS passthrough.

Can you try enabling the experimental feature in the developer options to use ffmpeg decoders?

For what it's worth, I’ve never been able to pass through high-resolution DTS:X/MA audio from my Fire TV using the Jellyfin Android TV client—it always falls back to DTS. However, Kodi works fine with it. On the other hand, Dolby Atmos lossless audio plays without any issues.

Looking at the latest comment on the GH issue https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-and...2614538945 I would say that's the current behavior of the app.

    Thanks all,
The experimental ffmpeg feature does not work.
The just app actually works perfectly for DTS X, dts hd and Atmos.
    Thanks for suggestion.
If you use external player does the jellyfin app know what movies have been watched, resume etc
Be great to have this feature in native app.
