Hey everyone,
I am new here. I have used Jellyfin for a few years now. I have jellyfin running in docker on a Ubuntu machine that is connected via ethernet to my in home network. When I first log into jellyfin via the browser, I can access the server. When I go to movies, all of my movie covers are blurred out and if I try and open one to watch, I get a playback error message, "Playback error: this client isn't compatible with the media and the server isn't sending a compatible media format." To me it sounds like a transcoding issue but it doesn't matter if it's H264, or mpeg2video, or any other format. When I go to the logs, I see error messages like this
" System.IO.IOException: Input/output error : '/data/movies'
at System.IO.Enumeration.FileSystemEnumerator
at System.Collections.Concurrent.ConcurrentDictionary
at MediaBrowser.LocalMetadata.Images.LocalImageProvider.GetFiles(BaseItem item, Boolean includeDirectories, IDirectoryService directoryService)
at MediaBrowser.LocalMetadata.Images.LocalImageProvider.GetImages(BaseItem item, IDirectoryService directoryService)
at System.Linq.Enumerable.SelectManySingleSelectorIterator
at MediaBrowser.Providers.Manager.MetadataService
at System.Linq.Enumerable.SelectEnumerableIterator
at MediaBrowser.Providers.Manager.ItemImageProvider.ValidateImages(BaseItem item, IEnumerable
[2024-02-10 06:55:49.106 +00:00] [ERR] [38] MediaBrowser.Providers.Movies.MovieMetadataService: Error validating images for "/data/movies/Blade Trinity (2004).mkv"

However, if I go into Portainer and restart the container. Then all works as it should. I can see cover art, I can open movies, transcoding and playback are all fine. However, If I stop using Jellyfin for a couple hours, it goes back into these errors and I have to restart the container.
I tried searching the forum however nothing specific to my question. Please help. I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks for everyone's help and I apologize if I screwed up in some way.
