Apologies if this is a basic question, but I was wondering how to display text titles within the library folder images in the "My Media" section of the Jellyfin homepage, similar to the demo site.

For comparison, when I visit Jellyfin Demo, I see:

However, on my local Jellyfin instance, I only see:

While the images appear correctly, the text labels (e.g., "Movies" and "TV Shows") are missing. Is there a setting to enable this in my instance?

I think when you upload your own images for the covers of libraries these titles do not overlay. You would have to overlay your own text on the images prior to uploading.

There is a tool, conveniently called "jellyfin-tools", you can use to add overlays for your library images.

    https://github.com/eebette/jellyfin-tools
    Jellyfin 10.10.7 (Docker)
    Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS w/HWE
    Intel i3 12100
    Intel Arc A380
    OS drive - SK Hynix P41 1TB

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not using any custom images — just the auto-generated ones. The issue is that the auto-generated image doesn't include the text overlay for me.

In fact, looking at the recommended "jellyfin-tools", their README states:

Here's what a Jellyfin-generated library image looks like.

However, mine doesn't look like that. Any idea why? I have a fairly basic installation, so I'm not sure what's causing the difference.

So you did not "Edit Images" for the libraries on the home page?

Are you using any custom CSS or themes? What version of Jellyfin are you running?

I haven’t edited the images for the libraries — they update automatically after a few days. I also haven’t added any custom CSS. I’m currently running version 10.10.5 but plan to update to the latest soon. Is there anything else I should check on my end?

Can you share your server logs via privatebin.net?

I don't see anything obviously wrong. Other than Trakt spitting out generic errors.

Hmm, okay. I’ll wait for the next image rotation and upload new logs then. In the meantime, is there anything else I can do to help with the diagnosis?
