So I decided to try out Jellyfin today. It's day 1 for me, unfortunately, I've already run into an issue that I need help with. For some reason on my Fire TV, it can not connect to the server. I'll run you through what I've done so far.

Download and install Jellyfin on my PC. Just the very basic recommended setting, just getting it on the pc and running which I did. Started it up and got sent to the setup webpage, went through that quickly, again just the absolute basics of what was needed.

Tested it out with a movie I already had ready. It played on PC just fine and had trailers, extras, subtitles, and pretty much everything except for on special sneak peek preview that I don't need. Went to my Fire TV, searched Jellyfin, and downloaded the app. Opened it up. At first, it was saying to add the server but I didn't see any connected to my network.

I tried to type in the name of my pc which according to the site that the pc Jelly app sends me to is also the server name, but it wasn't picked up. I checked my pc and tv's connection and once I tried they were both on the same WIFI boom my pc/server name came up on the app.

I got the can not connect error, repeatedly. Tried to restart both the server and app just in case but that didn't work. IPlease remember again that I'm a newbie and today is day 1 for me. I come here for aid

You need to enter your local IP address. There's an issue with server version 10.10.5 where it binds to localhost (127.0.0.1) instead of the local IP for autodiscovery. Find your computer’s local IP and use that instead.
