Hello there beautiful people from the Jellyfin community,

I have my music (8k files) sorted in folders. I would love to play the music from these folders, however it only shows the top level of the strucutre anything else remains empty. This is not the case for movies.

Am I too dumb? I found this on th efeature request list:

    https://features.jellyfin.org/posts/224/...-libraries

However it seems some features have been implemented already, and the Github issue has been marked as closed too.

Can someone nice shed light into this?

Apart from this: If this has been asked and I didnt find it - feel free to delete.

Are all the embedded ID3 tags in your music are populated?

If I open the web cloient or android device (or iOS), I can open the "folder view", if I then open movie folders, I see the content, if I open the music folder / library I see the top level of my folder structure. However if I open the folder it shows nothing. It is a bit similar to the DLNA server you can activate within jellyfin. There you have to have all files in the top folder level in order to show up.

What library type are you using? Sounds like you're mixing content types together.

Try running your music through MusicBrainz Picard. It will scan and tag all your music. It helped a lot when I was adding my music.

Thank you @TheDreadPirate. I think ther eis a misunderstanding. My music is basically fully tagged. And I can see and play it via the "normal" view. Menaing opening albums, artists etc. In the settings menu I can acitvate "folder view" So if I open the library via the "folder view" I then see the top level folders, but no content.
