    Watching a few shows. Want to watch Show1, Show2, Show3, Show1, Show2, ...

What are the correct "Line up next show" settings, and actions at the end of an episode to get the next episode into Next up without mashing the Back button to stop playback going too far into the next episode?

Or should I not panic and just use Playback from start.

Or is there a way that works, having the next episode of the next show lined up?

Or is that asking too much?

The only way to do what you want is to create a playlist or, if you don't care about what show you watch, shuffle the entire library.

If you're worried about shows going to the "Continue Watching" section and having a mid-way progress bar saved, and instead want them to go into the "Next Up" section, there's settings you can configure in the dashboard.

    Dashboard > Playback > Resume

In the resume settings page, you can choose the minimum percentage of any video you can watch before it's automatically moved from "Next UP" and into "Continue Watching".

Efficient_Good_5784 wording gives me an idea to explain what I need help with.

I have 6 shows in Next up.
I play the one at the far right, being the longest ago watched.
When the episode ends, naturally or fast-forwarded, I want the next episode to go to the end of Up next, with the play head at time 00:00, and for me to be able to select the next show in Up next.

Currently I need to let the next episode start playing and them press Back, Back to stop it. When I get round to watching it I have to select Play from start. But that isn't too much of a schlepp.

Unfortunately, that is not how Next Up works. It will always display the most recently watched show's next episode. There is no way to order them without modifying the client code (IIRC, the client generates the queries).
