Is there any way with some properly configured plugins to get global search (not only in library) like in Plex, I mean search for any movie or actor/director?

Not natively in Jellyfin. And I'm not aware of external plugins or mods to add this.

Keep in mind though, results can vary based on configuration. It's not always seamless like Plex, but with some tweaking, it's possible to get pretty close.
That said, it would be awesome if Jellyfin integrated a more intuitive global search natively. I’ve seen similar frustrations mentioned in other services too—like in this review about search issues on streaming platforms: https://plex.pissedconsumer.com/review.html —so you're definitely not alone in wanting that feature |
