So I know nothing about GPUDirect Storage, but the idea dawned on me that potentially this could by-pass the CPU altogether. Not sure if it can/could say reach out to SAS storage, or even a Network Share, or if it can only use NVMe Drives. But this could be a massive shift in how transcoding is done.
