Hi jellyfin community i have been using the jellyfin server for sometime. But im opening it up to my family who are often not techy.

i was wondering how do you guide your users to the app relavant to their platform instead of using the web app to avoid transcodes

I was also wondering if it would make sense to submit a feature request for a toggle that asks users to download the app

thx either for the respose or just for reading have a nice day :)

You'd just send them the web link to their respective app store's Jellyfin app. It should open the app store on their device to download and install the app.

You can submit a feature request, but I doubt it would go anywhere since nagging users to change how they use Jellyfin is not part of Jellyfin's design philosophy.

That's your job as the system owner.

Couldn't you add links to the app downloads in the Login Disclaimer or use custom css to include the links the footer?
