hardware acceleration question

Hi,

I had a question yesterday,
If I am playing a content, whatever it is, and at the moment of playing it is in “Direct Play” mode, does it mean that none of these picture options are being used ? or does it have anything to do with it ?



Additionally, I would like to know if those picture options are ok or should I modify them.

Direct play means there is no transcoding. Hardware acceleration only applies to decoding + encoding, the combination of which is transcoding. In other words, these have nothing to do with media direct playing.

You can actually check VP8, but will need to uncheck AV1 as Kaby Lake processors have no support for AV1.
