    Hi,
I started using Jellyfin for my music and it is great. I use Musicbrainz Picard to tag my music and it requires some work but the results are great. I wrote the script for Musicbrainz Picard to separate artists by ; which enables Jellyfin to correctly parse multiple artists for a song/album. The only case I can't seem to solve is how to organize singles. Right now my music is organized in this folder structure: MUSIC_ARTIST/ALBUM/tracks.
And for tracks that don't belong to any album, non-album singles: MUSIC_ARTIST/tracks. So these tracks, given that they don't belong to any album, are just placed directly into artist directory, alongside album sub-directories. Jellyfin correctly finds these files and assosciates them with the artist, but the problem is that these songs only appear in the songs tab. They don't appear anywhere when looking at the artist page. And also each of these songs has it's own cover art (since they don't belong to album), but they are not correctly shown in Jellyfin. That is, all "singles" for each artist share one same cover art in Jellyfin (random from one of these files). Is there some other recommended structure for this situation so that these songs are shown correctly. What is the way to solve this?

What does "non-album single" mean? Singles are just really short albums and are handled the same way as a full length album in Jellyfin and, AFAIK, other media servers. Singles should still be organized identically to an album.

Thanks, I'm new to organizing songs so I didn't know that singles should be organized the same way as albums. The Musicbrainz Picard saved me those songs with album tag set as [standalone recordings]. I'll try to tag those songs the way you described, thanks!

So what are you saying then?  That I should have separate directories for EVERY single?  That seems highly illogical and counterproductive.

And from what I'm reading on that link, Jellyfin is incapable of handling a directory of assorted unrelated songs (such as miscelaneous songs from a particular decade, where you have only one or two songs from any particular artist).  Even if you had one or two songs from a particular artist, the layout the above page describes means you would have to have an album directory under the artist, where the album directory only contains ONE song.  Not very useful if you wanted to group that assortment together.
