    Hi,

I found an OptiPlex 3050 with Intel Core i5 7th and 8Go RAM very cheap. Is it a good choice for a jellyfin server? What about the standby power consumption? I will only use it as jellyfin server (1 or 2 clients max), nas and with homeassistant. Which OS would you recommand?

    Thanks in advance

If your media matches your clients -- i.e., no transcoding -- you should be fine. I have an OptiPlex 3080 with an 8th gen i7 and it did just fine with running several things at once. If you're looking to transcode, I would say probably not a good choice. You want 8th gen Intel or later to take full advantage of QSV and it's still fairly slow in comparison to newer chips.

Thanks for your reply. In fact, yes, I would need media transcoding...
What about this one: ACEMAGICIAN AD15 Mini PC with Intel 12450H 12th Gen. 16 Go DDR4?
    Thanks
