Hello everyone! I've successfully set up my Jellyfin server and following some guides can access it from my phone. My issue right now is trying to access it from my TV. I installed it after following a docker guide to sideload it. Still, when I open the app it tells me it does not detect the server automatically, and when I try to put in the host address it gives the message: " We're unable to connect to the selected server right now. Please ensure it is running and try again." The server is running, it's hosted from my laptop which is on the same network as the TV and I have no trouble accessing it from my phone. Please help.

How is the server installed on the laptop? And what OS is the laptop? Are you using a reverse proxy for all connections?

I am not using a reverse proxy, and I'm not familiar with the concept. The os is Windows, I installed jellyfin on the desktop. I didn't mention it before but I have Tailscale installed on my laptop and phone and can access the server remotely when my laptop is at home and I'm not. I've also successfully set it up on my friend's phone with no issues.

Did you allow jellyfin.exe through your firewall? Is your network interface set to "private"?

click Start > type Resource Monitor > Network tab > expand Listening Ports table

Find jellyfin.exe on port 8096. What is in the "Firewall status" column?
