I'm sucessfully running Jellyfin on my Synology DS223 as a third party app from the package center (not via Docker). I have access to my movie library and the videos playback very well. Then I tried to setup Live TV via XML feed. SD channels work great, but HD channels fail to load and abort immediatly:

Quote:Playback failed due to a fatal player error.

Interessting enough jellyfin is able to record those HD channels and playback them. I attached 3 transcoding logs and the general log that are all being created when I'm trying to watch an HD channel. Is there anything you guys see that I need to change in the settings or somewhere? Thank you. Smiling-face

The live TV source is my cable router. The channels are free to watch (no subscription model or so). The routers main purpose is to connect me to the internet, but it also acts as a cable TV receiver. I got the XML channel lists (M3U files) from my router and uploaded them to jellyfin.

Do you know if the channels have DRM or encryption on them? Or is it just plain IPTV?

If it is plain IPTV, you may need to use an IPTV proxy like TVHeadend of Threadfin. There is no one way to do IPTV and jellyfin/ffmpeg don't support every way of serving IPTV. TVHeadend and Threadfin will handle "weird" IPTV channels and then serves them to Jellyfin in a way Jellyfin supports.

The channels are neither encrypted nor have they DRM on them. It's just interesting to me that Jellyfin allows me to record and watch these recordings using the same M3U channels list. Thanks for suggesting TVHeadend. I'll take a look at it!
