These are the two Playback infos for the same file at the same frame and on the same client, (Jellyfin mobile for iOS) on iPad. These 2 screenshots are taken after closing and opening the app, this Transcoding thing happens randomly and when that happens it produces washed out colours, I want to have direct play to get the accurate colours and without the need of Transcoding and Tone Mapping which would be handled by the player on iOS.

Did you enable subtitles?  A lot of subtitle types are not supported for direct play on some clients.  Which would result in the subtitles being burned in.

Oh! I will look into that! Is this setting on the server side?

Since Jellyfin uses the player provided by the client device it runs on, like exoplayer on Android/AndroidTV, Jellyfin is dependent on the device being able to direct play some subtitle types.

It looks like you are watching in a browser? Or using the webplayer in one of our apps? AFAIK, PGS subtitles will always need transcoding in webplayers. That is the most common subtitle type for bluray remuxes.

I was watching on the Jellyfin Mobile app but I have faced similar behaviour on Swiftin as well! I'll turn off subtitles for now and test! Thank you!
